Accredition course ‘LNG as Fuel’ (basic)
Published onFollowing an intensive audit, the Dutch Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) has now fully accredited our standard course ‘LNG as Fuel Advanced (IGF Code)’. This means that the we are the first institution in the Netherlands to receive maritime recognition for its advanced LNG course for the maritime shipping industry. During these courses, we use our tank facility and advanced LNG simulator to simulate bunkering.
The goal of the IGF Code is to minimise the risks for the ship, crew and surroundings. As of 1 January 2017, personnel on board of vessels using gases or other low-flashpoint fuels should be trained according to the IGF Code. The training requirements have been developed within the STCW regulations for seafarers. The course is developed in within the European ReaLNG-project and is co-financed by the European Union.
